There aren’t words to describe the incredible performance of world-beating triathlete Chrissie Wellington at the Challenge Roth today as she smashed her own world best time of 8:31:59, set here last year, with an amazing 8:19:13 that was good enough for seventh place overall.
The ever-smiling Wellington was dominant from start to finish, exiting the water on the heels of early swim leader Tereza Macel (CZE) in 50:28 and quickly overcoming that to burn through the bike course in the fastest ever achieved in an iron-distance triathlon and build a lead of nearly 22 minutes heading onto the run. She carried on at a similarly scorching run pace, ticking the kilometres over at a reported a 3:50/km at some stages to produce a 2:48:54 marathon.

The wide-reaching programme is hoped to help disadvantaged youngsters become fit for education and employment, and also help talented young boxers fulfil their potential in sport through the first modern apprenticeship in boxing.
The programme will have four aspects, including a Neets programme aimed at engaging young people back into education and society, initially through a 10-week course, hoped to help develop their motivation, confidence, and basic key skills.
There will also be a Boxing Development Centre, aimed at 16 to 19-year-olds who have already chosen further education. They will receive a full-time education together with up to nine hours of non-contact boxing training every week.
An Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence (AASE) scheme is a two-year course aimed at students who show ability and aspiration to perform at the highest level within boxing. In his first title defence, Haskins overpowered his rival with his punches being met with scant reply. The inexperienced Burkinshaw's misery was ended when the bout was stopped in the fourth round.
"I’ve used other forms of suspension training before but the natural feel and much more specific movements I can do with the FITKIT Pro® for boxing, make it the best by miles, there is just no comparison."
Lee Haskins, British super-flyweight Champion.
Larry follows up shooting his best scores with getting picked for the team to go the Worlds in Korea this August.
